But anyway, I have been doing good. Thursday Elder Joseph and I got to go to Mt. Hood and sled with one of the families in the ward. It was really fun. That is why I am writing today. Afterwards, they took us to dinner at a burger place and I did the pound challenge. It is where you eat a pound hamburger with the fries and usually a shake too. I did not get the shake, but I did finish the burger and fries with a little bit of room left. It surprised me.
We had our investigator family at church this week. It was so nice to see them there. If they come about two more times then they can get baptized. I don't even know if I will be here because this next thursday is transfers. We will see.
We are hopfully going to start picking up here pretty soon because as I was on exchanges with Elder Mayo, a Woodburn Elder, we set a goal to get 3 new investigators because I wanted some new investigators. I believed that we could do it, so we went out and we got 3 new investigators. It was so cool. I hope that everything with them goes through.
I really like that stuff and all of it is true. If the young men do that before their mission then they will have no problem staying on a mission. And please tell them to either stop playing video games or tone it way down. That is one one the worst thngs that I have seen and heard. And bytheway, Russ Osguthorpe was my mission prep teacher at BYU. Pretty cool huh? He was called to be the area authority during the spring that I was in his class. He had a lot of good ideas.
Thanks for all of the support. I hope that this helps at least a little. We are starting to need more and more missionaries and we need strong ones at that.
Well, I am still doing well. This last week we had Zone Conference. It was so good. Sis Gessel talked about obedience and Pres. Gessel taught about the Garden of Gethsemene. They were really inspiring and I learned a lot. I was the chorister. It seems like I am the chorister for just about every meeting I am in now. They must have noticed my jaw dropping abilities in the music genre.
I don't know if I have already told you, but we have a baptismal date set for a family for the 26 of Jan. Right now we are really just trying to stay busy: visting LA's(less-actives) and RC(recent converts) and members and trying to do as much finding in as Elder Joseph's body will allow us to. About that, we went to the doctor for that last week and we will see what comes of that.
I am glad everything is good back home. Sounds like everything is still busy like it always is. It wouldn't be the Carter house without kaos. I read the rest of those emails from The other Elder Carter in Brazil. I can't believe that he has been out that long. He sounds like he is doing well, though.
