Thanksgiving afar
I am doing great. We are actually getting a few more investigators coming up, but I don't know much more about them. My comps and I gave talkks in church last Sunday. They were all on missionary work...go figure. Mine specifically was on how to have a gospel sharing home. I think that the members might actually start getting us a little more referals. THey really seemed to like the talks that we gave so I hope they will actually do something with what we talked about. We are also starting to go around to members houses and give them the lessons so that they know a little more about what we do and will be able to know the basics of the gospel. I think that if you can understand the basics really well then it will be a lot easier to talk to people and answer their questions. I think that that is all we need to know. I had a hard time with that when people would ask me deep docrine questions that they found out from some random source. All they need to know is if Joseph Smith was a true prophet and if the bookj of Mormon is true. If they know that then everthing else doesn't even matter. Too true. So, about Thanksgiving: We went to a members house. It was alright. They didn't really do anything like play games. We just went over there ate and talked a little and then left. Some of it was actually a little anoying. Their dad was over there also and once he found out I was from TN he wouldn't be quiet about how much he hated TN and how horibble of a state it was. It was getting on my nerves but since I am a missionary I had to keep my smile. Even my comps said it was getting annoying. But other than that it was pretty good. The food was pretty tasty. We did get to play in the Turkey Bowl too. Since we played they had to make it flag football but it was still really fun. It was so slick because it frosted the night before and so the field was wet when the sun came up. Fun stuff. Only one guy got hurt: he tore his achileas tenden( probably wrong spelling). It doesn't rain year round here but they say that it rains most of the winter,so that should be fun. I hope everything is going good back home. The work here is great.

I hope that it wasn't an elder who tore his achilles? If it was, that may be your last turkey bowl in the mission field.
